Carla Alston is an attorney who strongly cares for her clients and their family. Carla is aware of the stress and anxiety that you may be experiencing during probate, guardianship, or in a family law matter. As such, Carla Alston strongly believes in making every effort to resolve the matter as amicably as possible. This belief has been strengthened through her experiences practicing in different areas with varying clientele.
Legal Experience
Carla began her legal career as an in-house corporate attorney for Alcon Laboratories, Inc. in 1985. While at Alcon, she provided tax analysis for corporate transactions and legal advice to the Human Resource Department for compliance with differing laws. In 1989, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA to broaden her skills by joining the over 200 attorneys at the firm of Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott.
During her years in Pittsburgh, she was a member of the Corporate, Tax, Employee Benefits, and Estate Planning departments. Carla also assisted in some divorce matters. After moving back to Texas and taking a hiatus to spend time with her 3 boys, she resumed her career by providing contract work in estate planning and family law. Additionally, she became an Adjunct Professor at Collin College and Keller Graduate School of Management.
Extensive Knowledge
Carla teaches varied subjects such as wills and trusts, tax law, business law, family law, corporate tax law, employment law, and business ethics. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Accountancy from the School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi in 1982, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1984, and a L.L.M. from New York University in 1985.
She brings this knowledge to her work for Willingham Law Firm, PC., where she has concentrated in such matters as estate planning, family law, probate, guardianship, and business matters.
